Background Checks - Got a ticket in New Jersey
A few years back I got a ticket in New Jersey for $80. since there is no reciprocity with Canada, where I live, I decided not to pay the ticket. They've subsequently issued a warrant in the state of New Jersey.
Now i'm supposed to start a new job with and they're doing both a canadian and american background check and have asked for my license #. Will this be enough for them to withdraw their offer?
i think you want to ask this to a lawyer
Dude be upfront, first and foremost. Let them know that it is over a speeding ticket and that you are actively working to resolve the situation. The last thing you want them thinking is that you're a bonafide fugitive. Most background checks for financial firms are very thorough and utilize the FBI database.
ask pete campbell.
all over 80 bucks haha
which is the irony of it all. should I bring it to their attention or hope that they won't care about something so minute.
and asbanker he prefers pete
omg just tell them and also call up the office in NJ and pay the fine....how difficult is that? You are not going to lose an offer over a speeding ticket if your upfront about it.....notice the "upfront" part is extremely key
Yea, as simple as paying the ticket. I doubt anyone will make a big deal about it.
I made the same mistake on a $5 ticket and they issued a warrant for the title owner of my car at the time, my mom. Whoops...
Damn that must of been awkward
