Baird Fee Revenue up 300%
Some interesting statistics coming from a private investment bank. Didn't realize how impactful Baird was in the market.
-
Record revenue year
-
Fee revenue up 3x from 2020 (which was 2nd highest year ever)
-
400 advisory transactions in 2021
-
>$100B in aggregate M&A deal value in 2021
-
2021 average sellside multiple: 15.4x
-
Added 134 bankers in 2021
-
Built a restructuring team
The only thing I’d discount is that they added that many bankers. Didn’t they fire a bunch last year?
Be curious if that number includes internal promotes too
Internal promotes in the new hire number? I wouldn't assume so (I may be missing something).
They did during COVID before the market rebounded from what I've heard.
Are you in Chicago office or NY? And how is culture supposedly in each office?
Can confirm they’ve crushed it this year, and industrials has gone absolutely bananas. Absurd volume and average values topping 750m.
20 > 1b
There are better name brands out there obviously but I don’t know if there’s few with better deal experience right now in the industrial space
Here’s to hoping they compensate after the sweaty spring, things seem to have normalized with the hiring spree
Current Baird banker - momentum hasn’t slowed down. It feels really good to be part of a team that can’t stop winning, especially with the whole No Assholes thing being pretty true.
That being said…wish my workday ended a bit earlier, ha…
