The M&A group is housed in NY, with a Tech M&A group in Palo Alto. Industrials and C&R coverage sit in Chicago. Dealflow is fairly solid in both groups, though due to headcount constraints some projects are cross-staffed with NY analysts.

Interested in PE placement for Chicago BAML analysts - anyone have an idea?

They've placed a few at GTCR over the past several years.

So relatively similar opportunities as NYC mid-tier BB analysts I'm assuming? Or are they limited to Chicago/Midwest area just like the analysts from MM firms in Chicago would be?

Chicago analysts are going to have a tough time finding upper-MM & MF PE opportunities in NY, if that's what you're getting at. I don't know why you'd go FT in Chicago if your goal wasn't to be in Chicago long-term. It happens, but it's infrequent enough that I wouldn't be staking your career on it.

Curious about the difference in pay vs. NYC. Is there any real fluctuation other than an adjustment for cost of living?

There's no adjustment for the cost of living. Pay at regional offices is on par with NYC, provided the group performs decently.

135 South LaSalle Street Chicago, IL 60603 (312) 696-7544

Future tip... When trying to find an address/phone#, open google maps, zoom into the city, type the name of the bank, then hover over the corresponding balloons.

Also, LaSalle Street is basically the Wall Street of Chicago.

Are you sure this is right? My buddy does DCM at BAML in Chicago and he definitely doesn't work there. I work right around there and we met up for drinks one night and he said his office was by the river, possibly to the west of it. Can't remember exact address because of said drinks.

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Is there a main phone number for that location? 540 W Madison and 2 N Riverside are connected by a walkway, so it's possible that they are at both addresses?

It could be possible they are at both but I'm 100% sure they use the address I said. Not sure on the main number though. You can try the one listed above I suppose.
