Bank of America Rates & Currencies
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows about this group. It's apparently pretty small, so I haven't been able to find anything about it. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about their Rates trading and FX trading desks? If so, they are hardly small.
How big of a deal is the desk size/strength at a bank such as baml regarding trading.
I might be with baml S&T for the summer and wanted to get an idea of which desks would be most interesting to sit on. I'm personally a FICC guy (considering rates and FX)
It's their rates/currencies group in capital markets. Any other info?
FX is comprised of futures/forwards, options and spot.. their spot desk isn't big by any means and this past year was rough. Options is doing pretty well from what I hear, not sure about futures/forwards.
Thanks for your help. Anybody know anything about exit opportunities/business school placements? I'm very curious about how it's considered since I haven't heard of anyone in the area before.
Anyone else know anything about the position? Just trying to get a grasp on things.
BAML Capital Markets Rates & Currencies Culture? (Originally Posted: 04/03/2012)
Does anyone have any idea what the firm culture is like at BAML compared to other BBs? Types of people who tend to work there vs. other banks? Specifically, I'm interested in the NYC Rates Origination group within capital markets (marketing, pricing, and following through with monitoring the trades of interest rate swaps to large corporate clients). Any information on whether it leans more toward a sweat shop or if it's relatively chill for a BB? Also, would you say the culture is closer to a traditional IBD group or an S&T group? Any info on hours? Thanks for your help.
Its on the "capital markets floor". Sits between dcm and ecm literally. Its fair mix of both S&T and IB. People were rarely there late, and if so it was just one guy waiting for something. The atmosphere of the floor is similar to trading since everyone sits on long desks w/ everyone else and the hours arent too bad (longer than traders but shorter than IB, especially on the fx and rates team.
I'd work there, but I also traded fx for a while and like that crap.
Thanks for your help. Anyone else have any input?
Bump. Anyone have any info on this group with regards to culture, interview, etc?
