Banks with RE Investment Arms?
Which banks have real estate investment arms? Mainly interested in equity investors, since you can consider real estate corporate banking as debt investors too. The ones I know of are GS and MS. Would love to know of any others and what culture/ pay/ exits are at those as well.
JPM, BOA, Wells, Deutsche. Most bulge bracket banks have a presence
JPM, GS, MS, UBS. PNC, DB (REEF).
Not sure on Barclays. I thought I remember seeing “Barclays Capital” somewhere but not sure. Citi use to have one, “Citi Realty Investors” but sold off their equity arm to Apollo years back. Above is wrong, BofA and WF do not have equity divisions for direct investments. Maybe fund level.
Any thoughts on comp and exits out of places like JPM, UBS, and DB? I've seen strong exits from GS and MS. Wondering what the overall rep is for working at a bank in the re world.
Not sure on comp but starting out at JPM is one of the best starts you can have. UBS is a bit of a shit show. Solid name overall but they are selling most of their assets and not the best culture at the RE divisions.
WF has an equity platform for direct investments. The group is called Merchant Banking. It sits within the CRE group.
