thanks. do you know where the team sits within their IB franchise? is it under banking or markets? do they do the structuring, origination and/or the sales? is there a separate ABS/ABF team or is it all within this "Securitised Products Solution" team?

I saw in their 2020 Strategic Report the below comment

"We are also developing other higher-returning businesses where we see opportunities, including in securitised products and our prime financing business."

did this team not exist before? i thought they were highly ranked like you said but this implies they didn't do much here before.

any further insight would be appreciated.

There might be traders selling these but there is a group under banking where they work with coverage bankers to put these together (I.e. similar to a levfin group).

they have existed for a while. Think the report means they want to be more innovative. E.g., securitized products used to be a lot of car loans etc., and then wireless carriers started securitizing and tower guys too. Now there are some innovative shit like securitizing music catalogues.

got it so this "securitised products solutions" team is structuring and originating these securitisation structures? doing the financing, placement etc?

is there an overview of different business lines at barclays IB? want to see how they all fit together.
