Barclays vs BlackRock
I got offers from both Barclays and BlackRock this summer as intern. I will be analyst in financial modeling group at BlackRock and tech analyst in Barclays. I couldn't make a decision for these two.
For paying, Barclays has a higher monthly salary that is $6k, and housing conpensation. BlackRock has hourly salary at 33.75 which is quite low, but the overload hours pay is 50 so if I work a lot I can make much more money.
Which company is better?
BlackRock doesn't do IB....? I'm still kind of confused by the position you were offered. All things equal I would go with BlackRock but don't just go to a place for the name; if you liked the guys at Barclays then go for it.
What does IT support and IB analysis mean ? Those are two completely different functions. I would say this has to be tech support but 6K and housing support sounds high for an IT intern...
Barclays. I have a family friend that worked their before, best bank overall. Great company culture, British, and they pay well. Have fun and Good luck.
Like most UK banks, Barclays is going through a huge restructuring so I'd think about what group it is and how that fits into the bank's plans.
Technology Summer Analyst at Barclays is back office. If it was IB you'd be an IB Summer Analyst.
Does anyone know how good is the financial modeling group in BlackRock? Also, which company has a better name that can help if I want to switch my job in the future?
