Bateman moment: which bank has the coolest business cards?
I just got my new ones today. I wanted them to say Analyst - Investment Banking Advisory, but there's been a decision to call it the Investment Banking Group, so I didn't really get to choose. Nice texture though. I wish I could have sneaked 'Origination & Execution' on there somewhere, because that is certified badass.
got mine a couple weeks ago and although I really like the look the shitty part is having no one to give them to except my dad, my girlfriend, and my roommate...
You never meet with clients?
Mine are pretty standard, with company logo and colors. I was super excited when I first got them but now I sometimes even forget to bring them with me on business trips. taylorman, I suspect by his comment that he is still in college and got them prior to starting.
if you give out your card as an analyst in client meetings, unless you are representing your group, you are considered a huge jackass
Or better yet, "murders and executions."
which firms cards do you think are nicest on the street?
Morgan Stanley, but then again I don't have many cards being a student and having a limited network. I've never seen a Lazard one, but I would imagine they would be over the top as well..
On a side note..
HBS has some pretty darn looking cards.
What exactly makes a business card "over the top" ?
I remember 3 yrs ago Goldman had the GS embossed with 22 kt gold flake, but that was as over the top as Id ever seen until that point.
The guy that gave me his MS card.. has different dimensions than the normal buisness card which makes it annoying because it doesnt fit in.
I liked UBS's cards
Haha it's really funny you mention this because when choosing between my top two choices for the summer, I showed my dad business cards from both banks and jokingly told him that the better business card would win... all the while thinking of that scene in American Psycho.
GS cards are not so great looking.....I think Lazards are pretty simplistic and nice looking
Credit Suisse and McKinsey have nicest cards, with really simple but well balanced designs. HLHZ wins the award for ugliest business cards (though their guys said that they were getting new ones soon).
My favorites are Lazard and UBS. Blair's cards are unique and also nice looking. I really do not like Goldman or Bear Stearns.
ghosht -- I have always been approached by all parties at client / buyer meetings for my business card. In fact, I've had Partners come up to me and specifically asked if they missed it in the swap. If you go into every meeting feeling as though you are a nobody, people will treat you as a nobody.
Good advice.
I know for us whenever I go to a meeting there we always conduct the 'swap' at the beginning and everybody wants everybody else's card...regardless of title...typically so they can, at the very least, organize them in such a way that they match the people sitting at the table in case they forget someone's name, etc.
Regards
Lehman has awesome colors and beautiful cards.
JPMorgan's cards are not too pretty i would have to say.
ugliest: Blackstone
As many have stated, UBS does have nice cards. Simply elegant.
I have one on-hand right now. I speak the truth.
I have your mom's business card on hand and, frankly, it's a little bit large for my taste.
do u guys kno if summer analysts get buizz cards? haha
JPM - Raised lettering. Off-white. Watermark on the back.
Next in line- MS - Raised lettering, thick, and a darker, almost tan color. Beautiful.
BAML - Has a water mark and raised lettering but says Bank of America at the top with that logo. The watermark on the back is the ML Bull though. It lives.
JPM has sweet ones, especially since the I-bank switched to the new logo back in 2008.
