BB 2019 Full Time Recruitment

I am an intern at a BB in asset management middle office (no hate please) and looking to make the lateral move to IBD for full time. Does anyone have any tips on how to maneuver this conversation and/or make the transition? I am an econ major in a target school (but not in the business school) with decent grades. I have a PWM at a different BB under my belt, as well as a past internship at a commercial real estate shop. I'm worried that working in MO hinders my chances of making it to FO. Advice?

Understand that its very tough to move from a bb to bb even with an IBD internship. Please consider MM and boutiques where at least you'd be in the FO, even if not IBD.

Secondly, just layout the analytical skills you developed over the summer and how it applies to IBD (really know what IBD does and think through the answer, more than just modeling).

Lastly, this may not be a popular opinion, but MO internships are prohibitive to FO consideration; people understand that others develop and are ambitious as well. It is only really a constraint as you progress in your career and lose valuable time that could be spent in a FO.

Not sure if I was entirely clear before- I am hoping to move from MO to FO within the same firm. I was able to network with some higher ups in the MO who said they want to keep me on in the firm and would advocate for me, but I have not yet broached the idea that I'd like to move to FO. Do you have any advice on navigating that type of conversation?

Thanks so much for your advice.
