BB Waitlist

hey guys,

Recently i interviewed for a S&T SA position at a BB, first round was on tuesday and got invited to final round on wednesday. i thought i did well but next monday i found out that i didn't get the position. i gave a call to the person who interviewed me for a feedback and was told that i was the third guy on the list and they handed out two offers.

my question: i know for a fact that the two people who got the offers probably won't take it, should I e-mail the HR to express my interest to wait or am i forever done once the HR told me that i didnt get the position?

i recently had an interview with someone at a bank and didnt make it, and after i talked to the guy he basically said the same thing...we really liked you but there were a couple people ahead of me. oddly enough i knew at the time that one of the kids who got through just got an offer from JPM IBD and was going to decline his invitation to the superday. i told him this, and asked if there was any way i could take the spot that would open up, and he told me to forward him another copy of my resume, and he would see what he could do about it...i have yet to hear back (i just sent him my resume last night), but i would say its at least worth a shot.

Have you sent thank you notes to your interviewers? More specifically, handwritten thank you notes. If not, do it immediately.

If you've already done this, I'd wait it out a week or two at least before following up.

I sent thank you notes in the form of emails, not handwritten ones. I'm thinking I could wait a week or two and send out handwritten ones expressing my interest? I just spoke with HR about it, so I wouldn't want to be too pushy.

Do this, but only with a feather pen on target letterhead.
