I wouldn’t give a fuck be honest... applying to another sellside competitor seems much worse if you want to maintain ur relationship with ur boss. Going to buyside actually builds up ur boss reputation
Generally, buy-side ppl are very understanding of your situation and will keep it confidential. No matter how tight they are with your boss.
