Bentley University vs Binghamton University Undergraduate
I'm a high school senior, and right now I'm pretty passionate about studying econ/finance in college and then hopefully going into investment banking. My eventual goal would be working at a hedge fund. I've been accepted at both Binghamton and Bentley, which are probably my best options right now. I'm still waiting on my reach schools, which are targets (Dartmouth/ Penn) but I find out next week and am not too hopeful. I also have the opportunity to study in Germany (I am a dual citizen and grew up in both places). I applied to ESB Reutlingen and University Mannheim, and the path to IB through Germany would probably lead me through Frankfurt and London if I get lucky. The ESB program would let me stay on the Northeastern campus for 2/4 years of my degree, so that is pretty attractive to me. However, I would prefer to stay in the US. Do I have a chance of breaking into Wall Street from Bentley or Bing? How do they compare? If I don't, does the German path give me a better chance? Thanks!
Binghamton has solid recruiting if you become involved with the finance related clubs and maintain a solid GPA in the school of management (SOM). Everyone I know who broke into IB had either solid connections and high gpa ( >= 3.7) or networked exceptionally well within the finance clubs, won ER and M&A case comps while maintaining 3.8-4.0.
The top students at bing are all exceptionally bright and driven so it isn't easy but definitly worth it.
I managed to land an IB role at MM bank with 3.8 and solid connections outside of school.
