Berkadia- Senior Analyst Pay
Anybody here familiar with Berkadia's senior analyst position's pay? I am specifically looking at this position https://boards.greenhouse.io/berkadia/jobs/435097…
Will this analyst be more involved on the front end sizing and working with production or be involved with underwriting and closing? I am confused because the description says Senior Underwriter - Production, isn't that contradictory? I really appreciate any feedback or insights, thank you so much.
It doesn't sound like you are sourcing deals or anything, and are likely strictly involved in the underwriting. Basing off my own experience (not at berkadia, but at another BS lender) I would assume most of the sizing is completed by the sales team/mortgage bankers, and the deal comes to you once they have received a term sheet and is ready for underwriting. I would assume you would be involved from that point until closing. You will probably work with production, but most of your job will be on underwriting the deal.
Just my 2 cents, as someone who works in a similar position at a different firm.
Senior Production Analyst at Berkadia here.
I would agree that the job posting is a bit opaque, but this reads like a production analyst role.
The job entails both upfront production work & back end underwriting/processing. On Fannie deals, there is a designated underwriting team assigned to each transaction which includes a senior underwriter & an underwriting analyst. For Freddie deals, the production analyst is typically also the underwriter.
Base comp would probably start around $75-$80 + bonus anywhere from 30% - 100%?
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you so much for the insight, really appreciate it!. Do you think this role can be for non GSE loans? Because the description only refers to commercial real estate loans while there are also other postings that explicitly refers to GSE loans, for example- https://boards.greenhouse.io/berkadia/jobs/4353552003 Are there analysts and bankers that work exclusively on non GSE loans? Last question- Since it is a senior analyst position that requires a 3-5 years experience, is it totally unreasonable to ask for a 110K base? I have 3-5 years experience working at a bank financing institutional CRE loans on our balance sheet and I can even show my paystubs for the last 2 years showing a 110K base with ~50K bonus Appreciate your help.
Is this Brody92? You seem to have very similar backgrounds. $110k base may be a little unreasonable, you can ask for like $100k but I doubt they would go higher on base, especially in Irvine. Your all in comp though should be equal or greater to your bank
Anyways, I also work at Berkadia in a major market. You need to remember that Berkadia's bread and butter is agency multifamily, all day every day. But, most offices, especially those in large markets, should have at least one mortgage banker who sources/places third party debt. We have a couple in our office and all you need to do is ask and they'll put you to work on OMs, research, financials, etc.
Also at Berkadia. Can senior analysts in production ask for $100k base in a market like SF, LA, NY?
I hopefully should be getting promoted this year, so I'm trying to gauge your knowledge of senior analyst comp
How do you like it over there? Any complaints?
i saw a posting for Greystone in NYC and they posted the range as 70-90k but i think it was for junior and they're in the same bucket no?
