Bespoke Suit San Francisco

Looking for a reasonable (and good) place to get a bespoke suit in SF, I don't care so much about brand as fabric/quality/fit, price range $700-$2,000, don't need three piece. Anyone have a go to/go to tailor in general for alterations etc?

You will not find good true bespoke in that price range. The good news is, unless you have a weird body shape, and I mean truly weird...there's no reason to spend on a bespoke suit.

Instead I would buy a very nice ready to wear suit from a reputable brand new with tags off eBay or a discount retailer (use lyst.com to search) and then have a GOOD tailor adjust make sure it fits perfectly.

Your price range will allow you to buy some seriously awesome suits and do what I just described. I made a full post on how to do this and save $$$ in the fashion subforum a few months ago so that might be helpful but look @ brands like Kiton, Isaia, Cesare Attolini, Brioni, and Brunello Cuccinelli.

You should be able to buy NWT $4000+ (if bought through autist retailers) Isaia suits for like...$500 - $1000 a piece then get them tailored for another $100 - $300 depending on where you are.

Hope that helps!

Also if you're lazy, then go to Suit Supply. They are really good for the money if you're not in the deal hunting mood. I'd strongly encourage you to get good at finding great suits though because there is a strong difference in comfort between something from Kiton/Cesare Attolini and what you could normally buy.

Hey, I’ve seen some of your posts. Thoughts on full canvas vs half canvas? The full canvas suits I’ve tried on at, say, Suitsupply have always felt really light and high-quality but seem to always come with some sort of pattern or texture that I don’t think is appropriate for analysts. Looking to get at least one nice full canvas in plain navy. Do you think it’s worth it or should I just quit being a bitch and run through some MTM half canvas?I’m more than happy to go the eBay/lyst route

Any other good deals on eBay/lyst we should think about? Ties?

Full/half canvas is not really that important if you're shopping the brands I mentioned. A lot of people make a big deal out of it but high end brands routinely release half canvas sportcoats that are of amazing quality. Personally, I like them more for summer and most of my coats are lighter because I like clothing I can wear in the heat and then just layer if I need to for winter.

And yes, ties are insanely cheap, especially if you're willing to go used. You can score 7 fold ties that are beautifully made for $10 - $40 all day long on eBay NWT.

Thanks! I've actually read through your other post on this topic, and want to thank you again for posting here. Tbh I've never cared (or been particularly good at ) fashion, I usually opt for classic traditional looks, so I'll check out the brands you mentioned and give the tailoring a shot. Anyone got a good tailor they recommend in SF?
