Best audiobooks (Audible) for work
All,
So I typically have one of my earbuds in and listen to audiobooks during the daily grind. I'm through most of the mainstream autobiographies and books on finance/business so wanted to reach out to the community to see what books you may recommend. I prefer nonfiction, with a narrative surrounding finance, business, tech, or politics. However, very open minded to trying a new genre.
Never thought I'd run out of books! haha
Have you given podcasts a try? I'm a fan of Tim Ferriss'. His podcasts are usually discussions with leaders in the topics you mentioned such as Ray Dalio, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and many successful tech people.
He asks good questions and tries to deconstruct what the differentiating factor in these individuals are, and how their mindset/habits/principles allowed them to thrive in their respective fields.
I haven't read his latest books, but I think they're about tieing together the commonalities of success behind seemingly different disciplines.
God I sound like an advertisement for Tim. Give it a shot if you're really out of ideas. I'm curious to see what others suggest.
Btw, do you not find listening to an audiobook distracting at work?
Big fan of a lot of political and markets related podcasts. As well as a few sports ones.
I don't find it distracting much at all, in fact I think it helps as it allows me to zone out and ignore the nonsense going on in the office and get my stuff done.
Nietzsche and the Nazis - by Steven Hicks.
Listening to it as I type. Wonderfully unbiased.
might give this a try. ive got nietchze's thus spake Zarathustra on my shelf
Don't know if it's on Audible, but cable cowboy is a pretty interesting read (listen). It's about John Malone and the rise of TCI / Liberty Media.
The Joe Rogan Experience and anything Jordan Peterson.
The Ascent of Money (Niall Ferguson) Mitch Rapp series (Vince Flynn) The Marauders (Tom Cooper) Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (Robert Pirsig)
A bit all over the place, but variety/spice. Strong reco's on the above.
The Money Culture
Sapiens

I can´t recommend Antifragile enough. Also, anything Michael Lewis has written is good and entertaining, even though I was not a huge fan of the Undoing Project.
For podcasts I usually like less educational stuff like "Stuff you should know". Have you ever wondered how lion taming works, how to rob a bank, or how the sun works? Probably not, but it´s a fairly good podcast that doesn´t require much thinking.
