Tequila/soda is a pretty good way to go. I do like the Michelob ultra lineup - they have some odd flavors that don't seem like they should work, but are actually pretty solid. If you can stand them, seltzers do the job - I can't drink more than about 3 of them before they become sickeningly sweet.

You aren't asking for this advice - but the other option is to get really, really disciplined throughout the week, and limit the damage on the weekends by not plowing down 12 pizzas on top of your drinks.

White Claws.

Generally you want things with very high % “calories from alcohol”. Pure liquor is like this, like 99%. Wines are ~90%, light beers are low 90s. IPAs are low 80s. What’s really bad are sugary cocktails and liqueurs which get you into the 50s. Look up the site GetDrunkNotFat. Whiskey-diets work (no calories from the soda means the calories from alcohol match the whiskey at 98% or 99%) but you can suck those down rapidly, especially with bar pours. It’s also not always socially acceptable to drink liquor/mixed drinks.

So the answer is White Claws. Association with the outdoors, poolside, beach etc. and bro culture make them not exclusively a chick drink. They taste decent. ABV is a respectable 5%. Calories from alcohol matches vodka at 99% or whatever so very efficient. You can’t rapidly suck them down like you can with bar made whiskey diets so it’s easy to pace yourself respectably well. And they come in a can, so you can make aggressive movements with your hands without spilling anything.

Yeah White Claws are good. My favorite flavors:

1. Lemon

2. Mango

3. Grapefruit

Wine for sure. I'm never satisfied after drinking white claws, always feel kind of crappy tbh

But wine or a nice wheat beer / IPA feels awesome. Stouts & porters are nice too but more if you're in the mood vs. all-purpose

This doesn’t sound low calorie.

Just take a shot of tequila and eat a loaf of bread if you're casually drinking stout/porter

lolol 😂

The best is club soda + liquor of choice. Handsdown the lowest calorie drink.

Shameless plug for an old classmate: AVEC drinks are low cal mixers that are pretty damn good (if you're looking for something besides club soda) that you mix with hard liquor.

What gets lost is those hard seltzers are malt liquor+ natural flavors/aspartame, aka the hangover express. They report lower calories but it's kinda like drinking a bunch of Diet Coke, which technically has 0 calories but I think we all know isn't great for you.

Yeah hydrating is essential. I chug a ton of water after drinking as well and can't remember the last time I've had a hangover.
