Best Days to Politely Ask Bankers for Coffee?

Hey everyone,

Flying out to NY to try to network with alumni at various banks in about a month. What tends to work better for coffee visits, the week or the weekend?

Choosing between staying Fri - Wed night or Sun - Thurs night.

Thanks for the help.

If you really fly out to NY, i'd be careful sharing your story as to why you came to NY.

Similar to a prostitute, they won't care about you much if they know you are meeting with 15 different parties.

If I were you I'd reach out to them now. I'm obviously not an expert lol but I just know I wouldn't want to waste the money, and figure they'll apprecaite you going the extra mile.

I would argue that you should think twice about flying out if you're ONLY doing it for coffee chats. Sure, they can be valuable. But in essence, a coffee chat is a conversation to have with someone and ask the right questions. I've had a couple of coffee chats with candidates and a couple of simple 15-30 minute calls. For me personally, the method of communication made no difference. In the end, I want to speak to a promising candidate who can be seen as likable by the end of the chat.

honestly I think 11pm is fine, Ive gotten more hits from 8 to 11 pm than stuff in the morning
