Best EBs for potential switch to Government

As the title states, I'm trying to understand how EBs fit into the whole IB to government thing. I'm planning on doing an MBA to switch over to banking. I like the idea of keeping the door open for public life, and I understand there is no better launchpad for this in the IB world than the T1 BBs; however, from a working in IB perspective, I much prefer the EB model and would rather work somewhere like Evercore. What EBs do have that sort of cache outside the industry, if at all? I would assume EVR given Roger Altman and all that, but I'm not sure.

Moelis people (i.e. Eric Cantor) seem to be going the opposite direction, so maybe not there. Though I guess you could see that as a good reason to pick it too 🤷‍♂️

IMO, nothing beats the top BB if this is your goal. Majority of the country has heard of at least one of these three : JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs

I don't think an EB helps nearly as much. Heard of a few one off situations where politicians had deep ties to banks but they're very exclusive/secretive : Allen & Co. Near impossible getting hired here really unless you have a connection. Rumored to be a mediocre experience if you're a junior banker.
