the following are some of the top courses in the country, however the waitlists to get in are probably quite lengthy

winged foot new canaan country club westchester country club country club of fairfield brooklawn country club

might want to check out donald trump's course in westchester

** Some of those courses have a long waitlist. I called their office. ** you need a sponsor./ Tough to find...

PS I am an African fellow.....I am not pulling out the race card but we all know that it matters.

On Long Island its not just as easy as paying the dues at most places,

The Creek Club is a great place to network a few partners at GS and a bunch of board members at Lehman are members there. I credit this place with getting me my summer internships, but if your family didnt come over on the mayflower or your anything but a WASP i wouldnt even think about applying.

Plandome CC Sandspoint Piping Rock west hampton

I only have personally experienced the creek, but i know people at the others and they're all fantastic networking wise. You just have to watch out for the snobs who think they own the world, in some cases they might though so be careful.

t302:
i forgot Bethpage, it's on western long island

first true public course to host the U.S. Open

not sure how their membership works.

If you can somehow manage to get a membership at Bethpage, then you might want to try joining Pebble Beach too...

Hi, Eric Stratton, rush chairman, damn glad to meet you.

t302... if you are going to give someone an answer, you have to actually have some idea what you are talking about. As you said... its the first true PUBLIC course to host the US Open... therefore there are no memberships. People sleep in their cars the night before to get on the course... not the ideal situation for a banker haha.
