Which internships should I go for to have a higher chance of breaking into MBB
Hey !
I´m an 20 year old first year business student from Finland with past job experience in B2C sales with also leadership experience in this area. And I´m wondering which type of summer internships I should go for after the first year of studies (since the chances of landing an MBB internship after one year of studies is just unrealistic) to have a higher chance of breaking into MBB?
Theconsultant98, sorry about the lack of response. Maybe one of these topics will help:

Best internships for finance students with the aim of getting into MBB (pre-MBA)? (Originally Posted: 05/27/2018)
I am a junior student at a semi-target with a specialization in Corporate Finance and Investment Banking. Once I finish my BSc, I'll be probably shooting for a Master in Strategic Management. My end-goal is to work in a top-tier consulting firm. My only relevant professional experience is a 2-month internship at a Big4 in Audit & Enterprise Risk Services.
While I do put a lot of effort into networking and pertinent extracurricular activities, I am a little bit lost when it comes to understanding what the ideal internships would be in my case. I have two 6-month windows in the next two years.
While I'm passionate about corporate finance, a career in investment banking just doesn't interest me. Otherwise, I am pretty open to every opportunity. People often say that internships at F500 firms are a great option. I was wondering whether these internships would still be relevant if they weren't done in pure financial roles, given my financial academic background.
Indeed, I know consulting firms are looking for passionate people. And I am not sure that at a CV combining a BSc in Finance with internships at Key Account Manager positions would leave that impression. I am afraid it could leave the impression of a student that doesn't know what he really wants to do.
What internship roles are relevant when it comes to breaking into consulting (pre-MBA) with a financial academic background?
Thanks!
Ideal internships are ones with brand name companies (gets your resume pulled) and make sense/fit your story for the inevitable "why consulting" question. As long as you can explain it in a compelling way, you'll be good.
Never knew you could get a degree in investment banking lol
