Doesn't really matter that much. Can't go wrong majoring in finance/econ. What is more important is being able to explain why you are interested in investing and hedge funds specifically.

Better to join an investment group and start following specific industries / stocks during your spare time at school. Before I broke into the industry, interviewers always asked me if I was in an investment club at school. They want to know if you are truly interested in investing.

Econ with a decent amount of finance exposure is probably the most directly applicable.

Then if you want to tack on something intellectually difficult like math, physics etc, that will help build the analytical and creative juice
