Best MBA to move back to London with

Hi,

Hoping some fellow monkeys can help me out. I am thinking of applying to do an MBA and hoping someone can help compare the reputations of different schools for jobs in London. This is with the aim to narrow down the schools I apply to.

I am UK national and would look to return to work in London at some point after finishing my MBA. I am looking for a comparison of INSEAD/ m7/ just outside m7 (Tuck/ Stern) for the ability to work abroad (not necessarily US) and back in the UK. This doesn't seem to be covered beyond the LBS for UK, INSEAD for Europe and M7 for US discussion, which I feel mainly applies to international students looking to move to their place of study, rather than UK students wanting to move back at some point...

I'm not interested in LBS as I do not think it will be worthwhile for me to go since I am already based in London.

Background for context, though mainly looking for a discussion on broader international reputation/ job prospects rather than whether I could get in:
High 2.1 (not sure what the equivalent GPA is) undergraduate and Masters at Oxbridge
2 years strategy consulting experience (S&, OW, Monitor Deloitte, OC&C)
Aiming for 720 GMAT (hopefully higher)

Thanks

Thanks for reply, and sorry for not being particularly clear in my original post.

I am trying to work out which of the top schools are worth going to if my end goal is to eventually return to London. e.g Do employers in London rate somewhere like Tuck as a good school or have they never heard of it and a Tuck MBA doesn't improve your chances of employment? Is INSEAD simply viewed as a stepping stone for international students trying to move to London due to its geography (potentially an irrelevant benefit to me as I already have a London network), or is it genuinely viewed more highly in London compared to some MBA business schools">M7 schools?

I am also toying with the idea of a 2/3 year stint working outside the UK somewhere, though I am not sure where. I am therefore also interested in the global prestige of these schools and working out which programme would open the most doors to me.

Hope that clear things up, thanks for your taking the time to help

I think most of the M7s and INSEAD are well regarded in London. You also have to consider that since London is so international, different people will value different schools - if your CV is being seen by an old school French MD then he'll probably be very pro an HEC MBA.

Besides the schools mentioned, HEC, Boccini, IE and ESADE would be considered pretty good b-schools (others feel free to add if I missed anything). I think Oxbridge still pulls their original name but at that point you might as well so a cheaper degree there than an MBA.

What are your post-MBA plans? MC or something else?
