Best meal stipend “hacks”
It’s fall 2021 and everyone is gearing up to shutter in for the winter. Whether that is bulking season or slimming for Christmas time, we continue to get our meal stipends ($25-$50).
What are the best NYC restaurants and spots to order from and best hack / tips to get the most for your dollar?
Get the pass for like ubereats/doordash etc. The free delivery and discount on fees adds up
+1 to this. I order 2 dinners for me and my gf every night and Seamless+ really helps squeeze the max in.
People have been fired for this, so you best be careful
Bump
What I remember as an analyst was ppl getting cheap pasta / chicken parm x2 so that they had one for dinner and the other for lunch. You can do this for any number of cuisines like Thai, Chinese, American etc. but gotta make sure you focus on getting the cleanest possible food if you're trying to bulk and not become a grotesque figurine made of unhealthy seamless orders.
Just get 2x Chipotle
And put the points on your personal account
What is JPM's meal stipend?
$25 when you stay past 8pm (can order anytime after 6), $25 more if you stay past midnight (can order this one anytime after 10). If you don’t order your first meal before 10pm then that meal credit expires and you only get the midnight meal.
$25 every 4 hours on weekends.
$25 every 4 hours? How many orders can you typically get out of a Saturday?
How often do you find yourself paying for food in NYC out of your own pocket?
Tesco rotisserie chicken £4, bag of salad £1, bag of microwave rice and beans £1.
With a £20 meal stipend you can feed yourself for three days.
Bro you work in banking and you live like this?
Save some hardtack and gruel for the rest of us, mate
this makes me sad
come on man the tescos stuff tastes like crap just get a nando's or smth
Any good spots in SF financial district?
Little north of FiDi, but Don Pistos is absolutely Goated… Must Try. There’s so much good food in SF can’t even start, but try Don Pistos.
2 fucking tacos for $13, wtf
Thanks man, I've never lived in SF so I've been crowdsourcing restaurant recs before I move. Really like Asian food and everyone has said it's good in SF so seems promising
Chong xing xiao mian is absolute fire.
Sushi place by me does a phenomenal lunch deal - it’s like $15-$20 a roll for dinner, at lunch $25 will buy you 3 rolls and a bowl of miso. It’s actually pretty quality sushi, not winning any awards but still enjoyable. I’ll do that at lunch and then have a small snack for dinner and it’s a good day
Pick up when you can! That's about 5 dollars that can go towards an appetizer or drink instead, and it gives you an excuse to get out of the office
I used to get a chipotle bowl and 2 of the tacos to keep under the $25 barclays limit. the tacos were basically 80% of the size of the bowl.
