Best Nightlife Places in NYC for an I Banker
Like many of us working in IB, I have relatively little time to keep track of what the best places are, and only a couple nights a week that I can devote to hedonistic pursuits. However, over the past two years these, I have learned that if I am buying a bottle, it should only be from a place that can deliver on its promises.
Here are some of the places that I enjoy going to, and why.
Provocateur – Go to the Café, the women here are the most incredible in the city. It will cost you big to get in (if you don’t have connections)
1Oak – best late night party in the city – tons of models, enough said
Avenue – this place can be annoying if you don’t have a table, but the attractiveness of the girls makes up for it.
SL – For some reason this place is always FULL of models, nearly every time that I have been there. Fridays and Saturdays can feel a little crowded here, overall the crowd is similar to Avenue or 1Oak.
Catch Rooftop - This place has a similar crowd to SL, Avenue and - but in my opinion has sort of fallen off in quality lately.
Finale - however I have only been here twice since they opened, not sure what direction it will take
Marquee– more of a vegas style club, not as exclusive and with a lower concentration of beautiful people
Lavo – In my opinion, the only reason to go here is for the brunch party, which is probably the best party in the city. It starts off slow, with a meal, and by the end everyone is dancing on table tops. Also, the number of models , 10 to 1 girl to guy ratio, make the possibilities at this place well worth the price tag. Go if you can afford it.
Le Baron / Electric Room / No. 8 – I group these places together because they all offer a variation on the same theme. Lounges / clubs that are not bottle service clubs and cater to an elite crowd. I can’t say that I would recommend coming to any of these places to meet women, as the selection is typically sparse in comparison to places like 10ak, Avenue or Provocateur. However, if you are meeting up with a lady, or ladies, these places are a superior destination, as they offer a more mellow atmosphere than bottle service focused places. (they can be hard to get into, but you can usually buy your way in if necessary).

Left off PHD Rooftop, Le Bain (Still has a decent following), DoubleSeven, Boom Boom Alot of these places aren't banker friendly...for obvious reasons unless youre spending a good amount
What about Barcadia? They have a peanut butter soup with smoked duck and mashed squash. New York Matinée called it, "A playful, but mysterious little dish."
