Best Partner Track MM/UMM Firms

What are some $1bn+ fund firms that hire associates with the intent to keep them for the long term vs. 2-3 and out? I’ve heard Stone Point is like this (confirmation?) but what are some others? Looking for Northeast specific firms (Boston/NYC). +SB if you can describe if someone would actually want to stay for the long term (versus it being banking 2.0 and hating your life but on the buy side

I know ABRY and Kelso have promoted internally for some time now.

I recently have seen American Securities, Berkshire, MDP, New Mountain, and THL promote to senior associate. Perhaps this is a sign that these firms are changing their model but all of them have historically sent associates to business school (with top performers choosing to return sometimes). They all have pretty good business school placement (HBS in particular).

Not MM/UMM but Warburg appears to be promoting internally now. Apollo has been.

Question about this line of reasoning. Wouldn't historical internal promotions indicate some level of saturation? As the firm grew, they need some people to fill seats and promoted internally but now the firm has already filled its open spots? Everyone seems to look to historical internal promotes but from what i can tell it seems to be better to be at a fast growing AuM firm?
