Best places to live for Investment Banking

I am currently an econ major at NCSU - I graduate in the spring, and was wondering what cities (besides NYC) would be ideal for an entry level investment banker? I am fine with moving anywhere in the U.S...would prefer spending around $1500 on rent. Any suggestions?

Don't focus on what city for IB. Focus on getting into IB, then move to that city.

NYC is best, but you might only get into a regional IB in Charlotte coming from NC.

If you don't mind me asking-what school did you go to? And even though I'm from NC, I've never been to CLT but I've heard its like the Wall Street of the south.

Not that unreasonable in UES / LES.

unreasonable for 1BR, but maybe with roommates
