Best Programming Language for the Buy Side?

Hi WSO!
I am a student who has the summer off, and I was thinking of learning a programming language or two. Any suggestions on which programming language I should learn? I hope to end up in HF LS equity one day, maybe credit HF, and I am curious if programming is useful, and, if so, which one?

Thanks!

Python + Pandas is your best bet, R/S+ is the secondary one. Also, make sure your excel is excellent.

I have a friend who lives in the country, and it's supposed to be an hour from 42nd Street. A lie! The only thing that's an hour from 42nd Street is 43rd Street!
