Best Prop Shop Training for Traders

Hey guys,

I wanted to get some input on training at prop shops. Has anyone heard of any firms offering great training and not impossible to get into. Let me get your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

most trading firms will see an increase in demand with a better training program, making them difficult to get into. The bigger, better ones also have more resources and capital to devote to training future traders. And finally a large part of the training comes from being around very smart people who correct the way you think about risks and decisions, so it'll be very difficult to find a great training program that's easy to get into. Even smaller - medium sized firms like Jane street capital are ridiculously difficult to break into. You could look at smaller firms, go in very enthusiastic and take initiative to get people to train you one on one. I'm pretty new to the industry so I don't know what those firms are, sorry.

Without a STEM background breaking into a top prop will be difficult and your best bet is to try to start at a smaller firm and have a senior trader take you under their wing. Doing something like the SMB program looks like a huge scam. If you want to learn how to trade and don't have an internship, invest that $5,000 the program costs in yourself. Buy some books on trading. Figure out a strategy. Take detailed notes on all of your trades, e.g. why you chose them, what happened, why it happened.
