Transfer student from NYS and I'm trying to break into consulting after undergrad. I've been accepted into other schools, but for the sake of affordability right now I'm considering a SUNY. I've gotten into SUNY Binghamton, Albany, UB, and Stonybrook. Which of these would position me best for consulting? Not looking to get into BO accounting/finance. And I know they're all non-targets but I still need the best option.

SUNY Ithaca

What type of consulting? I know bing has some people in risk consulting (and of course lots of accounting). Do a search on linkedin by school/company and you should have a good idea of where people end up.
But think you're gonna have to hustle and network tons if you end up going the SUNY route

Yes I'm definitely going to need to network a lot, which I don't mind as long as I have a shot. And if not in consulting, hopefully a similar field that will lead to it.
"Not necessarily MBB"? Honestly, not only will MBB not hire out of SUNY schools, neither will second-tier consulting firms Deloitte-Monitor, LEK, Strategy&, Parthenon-EY, and not even third tier Accenture, EY, PwC, or KPMG.

How are you high school grades and SAT?If they are good, going to a top school is worth the debt.
They weren't so good. Had some personal problems during high school. I have a 3.6/3.7 where I am right now. I got in to some pretty decent schools but they were non-targets and got waitlisted at a target/semi-target (think Emory, UMich, UV). I'm going to retake the SATs though, even though I heard it's a waste of time to do it in college. But I haven't taken the GMAT yet and a good SAT score can help with internships depending on where I apply.

Binghamton, as a function of being the most reputable SUNY school.
Georgetown is worth the debt load. If you want to do consulting, and that is something that is non-compliance related it's important to go to a reputable school like Georgetown. All else, if you really can't afford it SUNY Syracuse and Bing are your best options.
I attended SUNY Stony Brook my fresh and soph years and transferred to a private business school and I would advise you not to attend Stony if you want to pursue consulting.
Binghamton has very good exchange programs too - you can go on any SUNY programs or even establish your own connection and go beyond that. If you want good internships, I'd definitely recommend choosing a school with better location(firms show up on campus all the time, instead of upstate NY where it's a pain to get to/out of)

I recommend Stony Brook - two of my fraternity brothers got into PwC (financial advisory) and KPMG (audit), I broke into IBD, and we graduated class of '15.
Become active in campus life so that you create a name for yourself and take full use of professors/career center, that is how we did it.
