Best way to contact a recruiter regarding an interview status update?
So I have an offer from BB firm for a wholesale banking internship in NY, but I am more interested in purusing an internship in IB. I have about four more days to confirm my status regarding the BB firm offer (unless I ask for extended time).
However, I also have two potential offers that I can receive. I have an interview coming up with another BB firm for their commercial banking program, and I have received notice that my resume has been sent for further consideration at a top boutique IB firm.
I have already emailed the boutique IB firm's recruiter twice to see if I am selected for an interview to no response. I'm thinking about texting the recuiter on their personal cell since it is pretty urgent.
So my question is, how do I contact the recruiter without coming off as pushy? Is it okay to reach them on their cell?
Also a bonus question:
Would it be better for me to accept a wholesale banking internship at BB firm in NY, or wait for an interview for boutique firm? My interest is investment banking. I was thinking that the reputation and location from the BB firm is good for my resume, and maybe I could move into their IB program in about 2 years through networking. Or should I gun for the IB internship from the boutique firm, even though it is lower reputation and not guaranteed.
Picking up the phone is always best if that's an option. Give them a call and simply ask for an update on the applications.
