JOB SEARCH ENGINES: Are they worth it? (Doostang, Linkedin Premium, efinancialcareers, theladders, etc)
Looking to apply to MM IB jobs and am wondering what people's experience has been using one of the job sites I mentioned in the title above. Have you found it more effective to use these sites versus applying directly through a company's career website or via one of these third party job sites? Thanks.
Also interested. Have been applying to all of the main portals and haven't relly gotten anything yet.
I know Doostang has some pretty strong applicants so I hear its hard to get noticed.
WSO job board is very solid. Plus, we give 100% transaparency, so you can see all the jobs we have right here: http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/finance-jobs BEFORE subscribing. Most of our jobs are direct from the firms and we don't stuff the board with fake jobs (which I know some of the firms above have been known to do).
Obviously, I'm not biased ;-) Patrick
I've been using this and I must say, it is very good! But Patrick, pleeeeasse get more entry level IB positions up there!
And non-US ones!
Thanks for the feedback
We will hopefully be getting more Entry level IBs as the referral interviews end, and non US jobs are a pain in the ass for some reason, BUT I will keep trying.
If you have any questions just email me.
Great! Thank you, I'm sure you can't just pull them out of nothing, but I'm in dire need of a more reliable resource for applying that cold emailing and efinancialcareers
Hi everyone! Thanks for all the useful advice! My sister has just finished her MIB and I will certainly recommend her WallStreetOasis job board! :) I want to share my experience and I have to say that I was lucky using LinkedIn and Trovit Jobs. That's how I got my current job! So...Good luck!!

Besides the obvious ones like Indeed, Monster or SimplyHired, anyone know any good search engines for finance jobs?
linkedin
Zip recruiter. Drawbacks: - required and ideal experience is not often listed, so you may end up posting apps for stuff you are over/under qualified to- this is only a problem when the job posts aren't that good, and ziprecruiter doesn't sort jobs by experience pretty well. -Seatch feature is okay.
Positives: -It has one click apply and reccomends jobs based on location and similarity to previous jobs( the feature could be better though) - It lets you know if your application was even viewed- including how many times it was viewed. For example, i only get an 7% view rate, and sometimes my application are viewed multiple times. (Sadly, for the non-entry level jobs i accidentally apply to)
Linkedin is pretty decent. Good if you want to leverage your network. The features are ok.
How many banks use Zip Recruiter?
Indeed.

Most senior level positions are not advertised.

Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.
CareerFunda.info is an excellent resource because it's only real jobs without duplication. LinkUp is a consolidation site like Indeed or SimplyHired, however, instead of crawling job boards, it only crawls actually company sites for the job postings they have on their own websites. Those tend to be the freshest, with ALL their openings posted, not just the ones they chose to post on external job boards, and are removed the most quickly once they are closed.
In my opinion, it's probably the most useful site to use if you're a job seeker.

What are the best search engines for intern/graduate jobs on the Street? As for London I think it's http://www.efinancialcareers.co.uk
I think it was called google.com
Try google.com for search engines.
