Big 4 Audit or Commercial Banking
After working in credit analysis for almost two years, I’ve become tired of it. To make it worse I’ve been stuck in community banking underwriting which is mind numbingly boring and involves nothing but spreading and data entry. I’m thinking about either trying to move to a bigger bank or changing careers all together to accounting. I’m about 6 accounting hours away from having enough credits to sit for the cpa exam. My plan is to enroll as a non degree undergraduate student at the local University to take the 6 hours and attend the accounting career fair.
I’m not sure how recruiters would view this since I would be a non degree student. Which is a better career in the long run? Should I just go to a bigger bank, go to the sales side and work my way up or try to change careers to Big 4 audit? I’m more interested in corporate accounting/finance.
