Big 4 Rotation
Curious if anyone has ever done a 6 to 12 month rotation between competencies at a big 4 firm. I'm specifically interested in Valuation or FDD. I understand this can be common coming from audit, but interested if anyone has seen it done from someone on the consulting side.
Rationale is that I'm extremely process focused and would like to build out my technical finance/accounting skill set. Slight cavet - I'm expecting a promotion to manager in the next few months, I would wait until this went into effect before having this discussion, but wondering if this would make a rotation more difficult.
I've done one. If you're a valued employee and your partner wants to keep you at the firm, they will let you...they will let you do just about anything frankly - you just have to push.
That's fair. Did you ever go back to your old group or leave straight for industry after the experience?
So I actually really pushed hard and got to do a rotation after about a year of being there - I completed a 3 month rotation and was supposed to go back to audit, but ended up taking another job and left the firm.
Appreciate the response...
Anyone have any experience on Consulting to Deals (FDD/Valuations/Corp Fin) rotations? I made the switch from audit to consulting full time so I'm familiar navigating the general politics, but I'm specifically interested in movement out of consulting, as well as any thoughts on how new promo to manager would play in here.
Do your best.
