Big 4 tax to FP&A
Hi All,
Im looking to switch out of the tax industry into the FP&A world and trying to determine the best route.
Facts: Worked at a top 10 CPA firm for 4 years in tax in financial services. I took a lateral move into big 4 tax last December (this December will be 1 year) for a huge bump in pay, currently north of 110k as a senior associate. I’m done working all these hours on something I’m not at all passionate about. I joined the big 4 as a stepping stone to something else with zero intentions on staying long term.
I want to change my career and stay far away from tax, I’m a numbers guy not law, good ol accounting major thinking it’s all math! I just recently got engaged so I have major expenses coming up in wedding and purchase of a house so a career change cannot have a huge drop in salary.
Other facts, I have my CPA, I’m an advanced used of excel and have deep interest in learning how to code (just no time to pick it up at big 4).
Look forward to hearing anyone advice on the matter!
Thanks
