Big 4 Transfer Pricing Offer - Need advice
Hi wso! I've been a long time lurker and have been reading up on a lot of posts in the forum.
I was recently offered a transfer pricing position with the Big 4 in a major US city.
I really do think that I will find the TP work very interesting. My only concern is that I know that I do not want to be doing TP for the long run and am a little worried about my future career prospects.
What are the exit opportunities from transfer pricing? If I do not want to be doing tax/TP for a large multinational, do I have many options.
Would it be possible to transfer to advisory or S/O within the firm after putting in my time, lets say 1-3 years? Or would another firm higher me for advisory after I received experience?
If I were to go to business school and get an MBA, would future employers frown on me having tax experience when applying for new positions?
Sorry for asking so many questions, I am just very conflicted and cannot decide if I should accept the offer or continue the job search. This seems like an amazing opportunity, but other posts on reddit really seem to put TP down, thus my inner conflict. Everyone is telling me to accept a position with the Big4 but I really do not want to pigeonhole myself right out of undergrad.
