Big 4 vs Corporate in UK
Hey All. I'm a final year student at a russell group university, i'm planning to take a year out after I finish while I figure out what I want to do. This being said It would be stupid of me not to think about exit opportunities, compensation and the such.
I was wondering if anyone on here know what an entry level analyst in EY - Operational transactional services would do? Or what the group does in general, online they state that they do integration work, work closely with PE firms ect to aid in things such as carve out and realising synergies of merges and other things. However, I was wondering if this is all B.s and in reality you would be pigeonholed into accountancy and doing due diligence and nothing else?
Secondly I'm looking at graduate schemes in finance at companies like unilever, BAE Systems ect. I think I have a good idea of what people in these schemes do having a few friends in them.
My question really is what do people here think about the exit opportunities and such coming out of a big four in TAS compared to working for a large company? Assuming i'm looking for opportunities in management consulting, more strategic work compared to IB. I know that big four isn't as well respected in America compared to UK so would this make a difference?
Thanks for your time!
