Big swinging .....

Does anyone else have this fiery desire to be a BSD? I do and feel like it's unhealthy. I feel like all of these amazing things will come with it (money, friends, fame), but I know that's not true. I am trying to walk back this thinking, but don't want to lose motivation. Anyone else struggle with this?

Friends will not come from that. If anything, it will alienate the majority of your current friends, or lead to friends trying to use you, which is even worse. The friends you make because of your status are not good friends at all.

Outside of 1-3 people on the C-Suite, even the MD's at the BB's are not at all famous. Like, seriously ask any random person in Manhattan to name the 5 biggest rainmakers at MS. Even in Manhattan, they can't.

The only thing you will get is money, fame and friends will absolutely not be the case (unless you literally become CEO, CFO, COO).

Here's the thing you're overlooking:

Money doesn't turn you into a BSD. Being a BSD is an intangible that money amplifies.

Look at guys like zuckerberg or gates. All the money in the world, but they're still dweebs at the end of the day. They can try to fake it, but at best they look out of place and at worst they just look like an asshole. Money can fix most problems, but it can't buy those intangibles or "cool/it factors". Deep down you know if you're a BSD. Maybe you don't have the money yet to be flexing like one, but you either have the personality or you don't.
