Put it like this if you can get a PE internship this summer and two MBB internships this summer doing which ever wont matter. I say this because your resume was "good enough" for this year to land you an internship so you can choose either and if you don't like it you can do something different next summer. It's called an internship for a reason....

He's probably a junior though, meaning that he wants to net a FT offer after the summer. In this case, it seems like you're really leaning toward MBB and you're almost just waiting for someone to validate your decision. I'll spare you the trouble; go for consulting. You seem happier with it, mention several key things in its favor as you see it now, and basically only keep PE in consideration because "it's hard to get." Do well in MBB, get a top 4 b-school, and then try moving to IBD --> PE as an MBA if you're still interested. Or, go through your summer and if you dislike consulting, do FT recruiting for PE.

As a little extra information, I am a Junior right now, so FT opportunities are a factor.

With this attitude you will hate it in PE. I've seen it before: everytime you will need to do a mundane task or stay late in the office you will think "damn it, i should have taken that MBB offer, it would have been so much better!". Soon you will convince yourself that PE is not right for you and MBB is the place to be. It's how a mind works, basic psychology.

Go with your guts, it seems like consulting is what you want to do more than PE so who cares if PE is hard to get?

Btw, congrats on your offers, it's one of those "good problems" to have.
