GSO has an analyst program for their Liquid Credit Strategies group for analysts out of Undergrad. if I remember correctly LCS is essentially their leveraged loan investing platform. dont remember strategy AUM but I think it is online, but they are huge. Get first looks on newly syndicated deals and are very active in the secondary market. It is a fairly new analyst program. 2 yr program, great for learning how to become a fundamental credit investor right out of college. I interviewed with them recently. Surprisingly very friendly and down to earth group (as far as I could tell from super day). Competitive process, Interviews similar to that of an IBD interview but credit focused. Competitive process, not many kids at the super day, all seemed top tier as expected. No analysts out of school in Distressed, special sits, or private credit strategies as far as I know, maybe some after 1 or 2 yrs of IB.

I’m sure they take laterals or hire associates through the normal head hunter process (which i think is group specific, as in LCS will run a process, distressed will run their own), but the analyst programs are typically only for those coming out of college. With experience you would most likely have to go through the HH process. Not the most qualified to answer, but would suggest finding out which HH covers GSO and try and get on their radar. A lot of distressed funds have been raising a ton of capital and hiring so now may be a good time.

I’d disagree. Not totally sure what “GSO” is but a USC buddy of mine interned at Blackstone in Cali as a summer analyst and later took a full time offer.

I’m a real idiot GSO is a specific group aren’t they

First, don't use a specific kids name... Second, its not him anyways
