BMO Superday

I have a super day with BMO this upcoming Tuesday and was wondering if any of you have been through it. I have heard it is not to technical, but still preparing like I would for any other interview. Any specifics would be much appreciated.

Chicago or NYC? Mine was in Chicago and it was 50-50 fit and technical. Regular technical questions just fired one after another and be able to go through individual line items on I/S and statement of CF's. Pretty straight forward technicals and one guy asked me a lot of situational behaviorals like give me an example of a time you knew a superior was wrong and how u handled it and just stuff like that. It really is all dependent on the interviewer. It was pretty straightforward in my opinion and I thought it went well so I am anxiously awaiting. One of the guys who interviewed me was a huge dick and asked the most technical questions, I am assuming he was just trying to see how I acted under pressure, but I stayed calm and answered all of his questions and I corrected the only mistake I made right after I made it. Good Luck!

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad it went well! Mine is tomorrow morning in NYC. I'm just not exactly sure what to expect... I'm debating at this point whether or not I can actually boost my knowledge on the technical side... Whether or not any tech prep is going to have any sort of positive return...

The facts:

3 people (Director, MD, MD) 1 - 1 ALL Qualitative (Fit) I'm an engineering major so most questions were Why banking? Why BMO? What are your expectations? Why not engineering? Discuss relevant classes and experience, etc... NO quantitative stuff (but that could be because of my background)

Offices are quite nice...although they're in the hear of Times Square... I REALLY liked the people, and haven't heard back yet but will be accepting an offer from a Tech offer from a BB in San Fran!

It's a cool place, and growing quickly in the US! Best of luck to those of you going through the process!

I got an offer over the phone on Wednesday with a hard copy mailed on Thursday.

As for the "crap bank" comment," Your experience is what you make of it and the firm is rapidly growing in the states. If you're into healthcare, BMO is a great place to work. And even if HC isn't your thing, I think it would be a terrific experience.

Exit opps are only about "names" if you want to sit at your desk and be complacent when it comes to PE/HF/VC/etc. recruiting... If you make the effort to network and meet people, you stand out and can do whatever you want...

Best of luck to those of you still hunting!

Easiest superday I had vs. Citi Energy and Credit Suisse. 4 interviews. One was technical, but very basic stuff you can find on ibankingfaq and some markets questions . Of the other 3, 2 were with MD's who asked quite a few more personal behavioral questions e.g. what was the most difficult time in your life ? and do not talk about anything school or finance related. 1 was with a VP who just did the whole run through the resume, and lets talk about your interests.
