BMO IB INTERVIEW
Hey guys,
I applied to BMO for an investment banking internship next summer and got a call today to schedule an interview. Has anyone been through their interview process before? What kind of technicals should I expect? I have no prior experience in IB and my technicals aren't too strong (they don't go beyond the few readings I've done out of curiosity) and my interview is in 2 days. I may be in over my head here so any help is appreciated!
Thank you!!
Yeah, you definitely should have prepared more than a few articles. Have you heard of the 400Q guide or anything like that? You seem very underprepared to be honest.
Try to find a technical Q interview guide and grind that out.
Hey! Just go through BIWS or the Vault guide. Get down the financial statements, valuation methods, who BMO is, deals BMO has been on, why IB, know whats going on in the markets, know product groups and coverage groups in IB, know different IB products, know the M&A process probably, etc.
What city did you apply to? Toronto or a US city?
Thank you so much for the tips!! I applied to Calgary
did you apply to nyc if so, wheres the application?
BMO is pretty much referral or ocr only. I don't think the app ever opens on the website.
got it thank you
for BMO IB recruiting, a friend mentioned that it was heavy on technicals so def brush up on that. Additionally, prepare a few stock pitches, and find a few sectors you're especially interested in (ie. oil&gas etc) and read up about it.
Will do, thank you!!
