Bonding with other analysts on a deal?

This might be a bit of a stupid question, but as an analyst do you ever bond with the analysts on the other side of a transaction? In my IB role, I feel like I'm constantly going back and forth over email with analysts from the different PE firms we do deals with and talking with them at site visits, so I imagine you could get rather close over the length of a deal. Just interested to hear people's experiences.

Funniest

I wouldn’t know, but I did see on Instagram awhile back some guys did a vest (jersey) swap at a party after they realized that they worked on the same deal. I thought it was funny.

Yes, and it’s advised to honestly. Not making best friends but good connections in an industry that’s smaller than people think. You never know when the banker across from you might end up the corp dev guy at a potential client.
