Booz vs Big 4
Hello,
I would like to get your opinion on whether you think a more specific consulting position in Booz (e.g. public sector consulting) would be better in terms of exit opp and B school compared to big 4 strategy consulting position (Deloitte level)? My understanding is that Booz is definitely a bigger name, but I am concerned about the fact that being part of the public sector/govt consulting team would be limiting. I would like to potentially pursue finance or inhouse strategy in the future.
Also how hard would it be to transfer to MBB, and after how many years would it be the best opportunity to transfer (1, 2 or 3 years?) . Also for Booz, if I started in a more specific role such as public sector consulting, would it be easy to transfer to a strat role if I performed well? It would be great to hear from anybody who has been able to make that transfer.

Sorry I didn't make it very clear. I'm not talking about US - I am from outside of US and so the Booz public sector consulting position is part of Booz & Co not BAH.
Is there still that significant difference in terms of prestige etc between public sector and strategy (private sector) consulting for Booz & Co offices overseas? I'm not too sure how split with BAH comes into play here.

Dude, screw prestige. Go where the money is. And I don't mean starting salary, I mean long term earning potential. Lifestyle is also very important.
