Bottom to mid bucket bonus
Hi guys,
I searched and found a few dated threads, but with bonus season coming up I was wondering what the actual bottom to middle bonuses have been recently when compared to the top bonus? Are we talking a dispersion of $30k or something much more? I see myself in the middle bucket, but there are a lot of talented analysts and politics in my group so I am just trying to get an idea to mentally prepare myself for whatever hits me. Thanks!!!
Not sure how we are supposed to answer this question without knowing anything about your job
Assuming it's banking, I'm interested in this as well. I know top bucket at my firm last year was 80k, but I wonder if the lower-bottom people got significantly less... like 30k or something.
I have read somewhere bonuses vary. I do not think there is something like a, "standard" bonus like what is signed in engineering, but I think with IBD/Finance + BigLaw (or law in general) bonuses varies on all different levels.
If I am wrong, please provide more info! Thanks!
Last year mid bucket was 65k at one of the BBs. Bottom was 50k and top was 75k. Add 10-15k for EBs and subtract for MMs. Rough guidelines I would say.
So yeah, for first year it's not really a big deal, but I would be concerned if you're bottom bucket for reasons other than comp. Bonuses are likely to be down this year so don't expect the above.
