Boutique Strategy Consulting Firms and Freshman

Hey all, I am a freshman who is very interested in Consulting. Attend a T20 semi-target for Finance ( not too sure on Consulting ). My first semester GPA is very very good ( spring semester grades haven't been finalized yet - gonna be a little bit worse ). I have experience working as an Analyst for a pro-bono consulting group on campus ( included survey data analysis and a formal presentation to a real small business client ). I was wondering how open Boutique Consulting Firms are when it comes to cold calling/freshman internships. I really don't have any strong family/friend connections.

I know I am acting very very late in the process but I also know that the Boutique PWM firms around my area have a very informal hiring process and are actually still open to new hires - I was wondering if this mindset is usually the same for Boutique Strategy Consulting Firms. There really aren't a lot of consulting firms in my area that focuses entirely on strategy.. Should I also try to target technology/HR consulting etc.? I realize that I basically have zero "real" experience but I'm hoping I can leverage/pitch my on-campus consulting gig. Should I begin practicing case studies?

I apologize for my naivety in advance - some of these questions might seem a little stupid and to be honest I'm really don't know a ton about consulting but I'm genuinely open to any help/guidance. Should I just pursue a PWM internship for now?

Thanks all

Also, can anyone give me a Capital IQ search of the boutique consulting firms within Dallas/DFW?
