Break into Strategic Finance from accounting background in Private Equity Industry

Hello Monkeys!
I've been exploring my career options for a while and wanted to reach out for advice. Appreciate your help!
My background is 3 years in Big 4 audit in Asset Management industry, and 1.5 years fund accounting (plus operational roles) in private equity firm. I'm in serious consideration of changing my career path to Strategic Finance in a tech company, but I know it's not easy. I could potentially leverage my experience at the PE firm because my role involves more of operational work than just merely accounting - I was heavily involved in valuation, deal closing, credit facility, etc. I've done networking part. However, I don't have financial modeling experience or FP&A experience. Based on what I know, Strategic Finance roles are looking for candidates with investment banking, management consulting, or FP&A background. Could anyone please give me some insights in how should I prepare to break into this industry? Is it possible for someone with my background to make it? Thanks so much!!
