Breaking into Equity Research - Student
Hey guys,
First time posting here. My background is one that is predominantly actuarial related. I am currently still in college/uni. Would love to seek some advice from those that are in equity research on the following questions.
-
What can I do to be better prepared for interviews and also be more competent for any possible job openings. I have thought about creating a blog and covering the public markets and also possibly trying to write my own equity research reports. Issue with this is, I have no idea how to even start covering the public markets as there are so many industries. What would the best way of going about this be?

How can I do well in coffee chats. I can score coffee chats but what would the best way of doing well in them be? I know this has been answered before but in my situation I have no finance experience (only actuarial) so what I can bring to the table is basically work that I do in my own time behind closed doors.

Any tips I should take on board and general advice from you guys :)
