Breaking into London HF space: non-EU analyst, CFA
Hi guys
Hopefully, someone with similar experience or background can help out here.
I'm working at a non-EU emerging market hedge fund, 4+ year experience as an equity analyst. CFA charterholder. Trying to crack the London hedge fund space (targeting fundamental, value, stock pickers). What is my best way forward?
Do I need to do an MBA? Feels like a lot of money to spend (and not earn) just to get back into buy-side. It would improve my resume from an education point of view, but does it add a lot of value in the UK?
Do I network my way into IBD through referrals, do some time there, and then try to crack the HF nut?
Any recruiters that would be helpful with this non-traditional background? Most just ignore me, not Oxbridge, not EU, too much effort for them.
Or do I just approach funds directly?
Thanks
