Breaking into RE from Corp Fin at F10 ( 2nd year Fin Analyst - O&G)
Hey all - I wanted to write this post as I'm struggling to find current forums with advice on how to switch into CRE and what the most realistic entry point is from someone with a Finance background but no real specific RE experience. I followed the advice of multiple posts within WSO completed the REFM levels 1,2, & 3 certificate and the Argus certification to hopefully fill the gap on my resume for not having any RE experience.
From the perspective of those of you in the RE industry, what are possible paths open to me and what will require are MBA or MSRED transition into.
I kept this intentionally vague to not narrow discussion but I can provide more info on what my ambitions ares in the industry as well as more clarity into my current background as well.
Thank you all in advance
you took a great first step in getting the modeling stuff on your resume. you're very young and if you keep applying to postings and networking i'm sure you will get something soon. dont think mba should be a consideration at your age. also, don't be afraid to take a "not as prestigious" first RE job. you take what you can get as a career switcher. i went from GSE lending to REPE.
