Good evening mates,

**Summary: Had car accident which forced me to leave job. Should this be mentioned anywhere before a potential employer asks why I quit my current job? ** All cured now.

You're fine. It's not like you were fired for cause. Something unexpected happened and you had to face the consequences and now you're bouncing back.

You don't need to bring it up, but if it does come up, bring up something positive or just start singing that Chumbawumba song - 'I get knocked down, but I get up again ... never gonna keep me down' - lol

All in good spirits, mate. Cheers to a full recovery and meaningful employment again.

Thanks for the advice. That is what I figured, only wondered if it could be used as a benefit/anti-con in the application process as an explanation for unemployment.

The amount of internal recruiters who reached out to me during my injury was insane, had to manage those with extreme caution at the time.

Thanks for the wishes, hoping to be back to employable in a few short weeks.

I don't think you have to worry about anyone thinking that your life altering spinal surgery is a sob story. It absolutely speaks to your resilience and if any applications/interviewers ask about the gap in employment, I wouldn't hesitate to explain the situation at all.

It sounds like you are getting the interviews even though you didn't explain the situation in your application. Are you only get call backs on a fraction of the apps you submit?

Anyway, congrats on the recovery and good luck in the job hunt!
